Philippines Trip 13-19Apr

13th April 2013.

Little Wimpy threw up early in the morning, so we jumped off the bed at 5.45am, and cleaned up the mess. Poor boy, he must be feeling unwell. :(

We got up and get prepared for all the stuff, and headed out. Right before I go, Wimpy stood with his hind legs and kissed me on my chin. I felt sad for a second and couldn’t bear to leave my two boys. But I know my family will take care of them well.

Now, little Nik was curling beside mum, seems to know that I will be away for awhile. He’s such a clever boy!

So we went off.

We reach the airport earlier than expected, and we went walking around before checking in our stuff. Weather was good, and we were so excited! Afterall, this is the first time we’re going off together and completing the travel together! :)

We had a quick bite at the airport before heading to the gates. Killiney.

~OFF WE GO~

3.5hrs of plane ride.

And we reach Philippines safely.

I was pretty impressed by the developments here. Initially when baby ask, "How is Philippines like?" I told him, maybe it's like Indonesia? They have forest everywhere, grass patches, poor traffic and bad air.

But the moment I step out of the Airport, I know i'm wrong.

Look at the tall buildings!! It's not losing to Raffles Place ok!!! It took us 30 mins to reach our hotel. And we both liked it at the first glance.

Very kind people we met there, they really provide excellent service!

We went around town to get use to the surroundings, afterall we're gonna spend the next 6 days here. Everything look so Singapore actually.  

We came to a pet shop selling Moo's nose as doggie chews! OMG~ I was horrified.

People here are generally smaller in build. They are shorter and small structured. I became so huge there. Vinc is a giant. 

We visited their local supermarket. 

They sell big carrots!!!

Our breakfast at the hotel, ......... for the next 6 days.

Yes we ate the same food everyday.

I am glad that baby came along with me this time round. It was a pleasant trip as we have never thought we would travel to Philippines together....... and now we did! :D

Manila Bay

We visited this place called the Manila Bay. It's like Singapore's East Coast Park. They have rolls of restaurants along the sea and people came all the way here to watch sunsets. So did we. :)

We were pretty amazed by the speed of sun setting in just within 10 mins. So bright and cheerful now, and skies turned dark and gloomy next.

We dislike the weather like Philippines.

Inside the intensed conference hall, many emotions build up within everyone. Through the silence, all members holding their hands, friends or foes, with their tears on the verge of bursting out like a tap. Whether or not you got a bronze or gold with honors, you cry.

(Now with this high tech thing call the internet, results were released online at http://www.singaporeyouthfestival.sg/results.aspx) We can all cry infront of the computer hugging a teddy bear.

SYF 2013 finally came to an end, rounding off perfectly with an dream-come-true result for all. Although this is no longer my band , but I still feel belonged to here. Under the baton of Mr Toh Yang Yang, I am still a proud member, a proud Alumni.

It's been 10 years.

This dream, it's been ten freaking long years.

"Friends in Band, are friends forever" - Mr Toh.
We will never forget the things he taught us. And to us, getting a Gold is always our dream. Although it took us ten years to obtain that, I personally think that it's all worth it. All the love, care and patience, finally paid off. :)

Everytime when I step into this band, it makes me miss my own band days. I believe everyone have their story to tell and for me, Guo Qiang and Yuhui, we shared many many life events through these 12-13 years of friendship. And we are really glad, from our heart, that Mr Toh is now our conductor again.

There are so much things we learnt in band, and are still using.
This band, makes us who we are today.

These are the memories that will stay with me forever. And I am glad that I chose band as my CCA in my secondary school days. This is something I never regret. Hope the Alumni band will grow well, bringing people who treasure this kinship as much as us, together. :D

This Week's Special - PHILIPPINES!!

I got my DSLR on 22nd March, till date, it's been 3 weeks!

1st weekend, I 闭关修炼, hid in the caves to do some manual guide reading. And took some shots of my little two.

2nd weekend, we went Raffles Place for a walk.

3rd weekend, we registered ourselves for the Photography Workshop by FUSED.

And this coming week - the 4th week, we're going to Philippines!!
This is my first time stepping into the Philippines island, a familiar country which wasn't even in my "TO-GO" list. But I'm gonna bring soem memories back in a week's time!

Photography Revision !!

And after yesterday's lesson, I realised how important LIGHT is during photography. And all the below shots are taken with insufficient lightings which causes all these bad photos :(

Niki is a clean boy. And he expects Winter to be as clean as him. So sometimes when his face got dirty, Niki will lick 'em off. =.= Weird dog.

Baby and I then brought them to the corridoor for a run before their shower. It was evening and the sun has set. So the lights are really bad. But that's the best we can do :(

We'll bring them outdoor next time, during noontime, for a better photoshoot!

And after shower, we were playing with jumpshots - of the dogs...
